Sheryl Koral has worked in the editing/publishing field since 1990. She has proofread, edited, written, rewritten, press checked, and project managed for NSU, an ad agency, a publishing company, and even an investigative agency. She’s edited insurance reports, advertising campaigns, books, magazines, scripts, brochures, flyers, handbooks, and catalogs. And that’s just professional work. She has been freelance editing since before she graduated Cum Laude with her English degree and has worked on everything from college papers to short stories, historical articles, magazine columns, and plays. She regularly reviews grammar reference material to assure her knowledge of the English language and general usage is up to date. She is always ready and willing to share her wisdom, answering questions on grammar, language, and NSU style.

An editor’s job is to make the writer sound good. If something has been edited well, it does not lose the writer’s voice. In fact, if an editor is really good, the writer can’t even tell the work was edited, just that it is even better than it was.
